Häcker Automation has developed a direct dispensing unit (DDU), shown in Fig. 1. This unit provides a defined and constant amount of substance for application to a component. Fig. 2 exemplifies how SMD adhesive is dispensed with a cross structure. The wetted component is above the foil again.
The following features ensure a defined amount of substance:
- a custom-built squeegee including a substance reservoir
- a rotary motion of carrier material (foil) for even substance distribution
- a elevating adjustment of the squeegee ensures a defined layer thickness
- mapping or creation of a defined substance shape on the workpiece with the help of an individually adjustable vacuum-supported relief shape under the substance´s carrier material
- selection of structuring time of the carrier material (foil) for partial and full surface wetting
